“FlatMates was collated as a response to the 9-tower lockdown of 2020 in North Melbourne and Flemington.
FlatMates aims to not dwell on the emotional and psychological stress that resonated with the residents of the towers, but to shine a light on the strength and resilience of the community.”

About Khalid Farah
Khalid Farah has a Bachelors Degree in Media and Communication. He has worked with the City of Melbourne, The Huddle, Good Cycles, Moonee Valley City Council, and Cohealth on a range of projects as a content creator. He has completed an internship as part of his University studies.
Currently, he is continuing to develop his own production business, Kushitic Production. This has come about as a response to the 9 Towers lockdown and the lack of proper coverage of what was really happening inside the towers. This has motivated him to create a platform where “we tell our own unedited, unfiltered stories as residents directly to our viewers”.
