“The work takes place in a virtual space where the moving character represents us, the audiences who are able to travel freely without boarder.
There are two sculptures connected to each other with many ‘links’ in the space, where Liu’s sculpture is based on the ancient Chinese philosophy – balance between positive and negative natures of a human; and Golem’s is a boy trying to remove the nail pinned on his foot seeking for release and freedom.”

ABOUT JINGLU LIU
Jinglu Liu, a Chinese artist and inventor who was born in Linyi of Shandong province in 1965.
He is an advocate of “ideological freehand ink painting and ideological calligraphy – sculpture” ( painting being transformed into three-dimensional sculpture).
Jinglu is also a lecturer in Fine Arts Painting and Calligraphy at Tsinghua University.
His works have been collected by many museums, galleries and private collectors from around the world such as America, Japan, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc.

ABOUT Golem Klon VIII
Golem Klon VIII was born in Ingolstadt Germany in 1974.
In 1994, he graduated from Psychology and Social Science at Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences. In 2003, he received a master degree in Stone Carving Art in Aschaffenburg.
With many sculptures being exhibited across Europe and China, he is also an expert in new media, interactive installation, parametric design, digital generation, public art, game design, and 3D printing.
Connection by Jinglu Liu and Golem Klon VIII is presented as part of ToA Connect and Mapping Melbourne 2020-21.
